The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 535,000 American children have potentially dangerous levels of lead in their blood.

Right now in San Jose, CA, 10 public agencies, including the cities of San Francisco, Oakland, San Diego and the counties of Los Angeles and Santa Clara are bringing suit. The goal is to force defendants to inspect over 3 million California homes and to remove any lead paint hazards. The estimated cost to the industry? Over $1Billion.
